Our Idaho hot springs are under attack. As the number of visitors have increased so has the TRASH. Hot springs are getting shut down every year so please make it a point to not only pick up the big trash but micro trash as well. If we all do our part we can keep these natural wonders accessible.
Note: During winter the trail gets rather icy so some hiking poles and Yaktrax will really help.
At the trailhead there is ample parking including an outhouse. The trail starts crossing the pack bridge over the Lochsa River where you’ll see the Warm Springs Trailhead sign. You’ll head right following Warm Springs Trail #49.
After about a mile you’ll come to the first of the three main soaking pools. The first pool, located at the bottom of a steep hill, sits right along the creek and is fed by steaming hot waterfalls coming out of the hillside.
The second pool is a bit further down trail and marked by a large boulder. There are several smaller pools in the area which tend to be bit cooler. The third and final pool is just a touch further down trail.
